Ásdís Hlökk Theodórsdóttir

Ásdís Hlökk holds an M.Phil degree in planning from Reading University, UK. She
is a consultant with Alta Consulting in Reykjavik, Iceland and adjunct at the
University of Reykjavik. She has previously been with the Icelandic National Planning
Agency for a number of years, where she served as deputy director.
Her areas of expertise include planning and environmental assessment. Ásdís Hlökk
has represented Iceland and participated in expert groups and research and development
projects on planning and environmental assessment in the Nordic countries and
Europe. Her practice as consultant has involved master planning, urban design,
municipal planning and environmental assessment. Her teaching and research focuses
on planning systems and theories, planning processes and institutional framework,
environmental assessment and connections between land use and transportation Planning.
