BBC Live Events

Mike Gibbons is Project Director, BBC Live Events, responsible for a range of
United Kingdom projects, broadcast programmes and major events ranging from concerts
to conferences, street theatre to festivals. These include the concerts at Buckingham
Palace for Her Majesty the Queen's Golden Jubilee and the London Torch Relay Concert

with ten permanent screens across the UK. Plans for a rollout are currently underway
to take Public Space Broadcasting to every part of the United Kingdom. Mike has
spent over thirty years in the BBC including twenty years in local broadcasting
as a Radio Editor and TV Producer. He has also managed a range of arts projects
beyond the BBC and is an active musician.
